Service Day 2016: Foster Care Support Foundation

Did you know children taken into foster care often leave with the clothes on their backs … and nothing else?

On Saturday, Oct. 15th, more than 65 kids will be coming through the Foster Care Support Foundation’s distribution center. For Tar Heel Service Day, the Atlanta Carolina Club will assist with a variety of activities to help refresh the shopping aisles with clothes, toys, bikes, etc.

The Foster Care Support Foundation serves a vital need throughout Georgia by providing free clothing, infant equipment and developmental toys to thousands of children in foster and relative care. The 20,000 sq ft. Roswell distribution center acts as a shopping center for foster kids throughout the state, and the center also distributes and mails items to those in need.

In 2015, Tar Heels participated in 76 service projects throughout the United States and internationally. From Bangkok to Boston, Tar Heels refurbished schools, planted flowers, delivered meals, collected childrens books and much more.
